IDENTIFICATION WITH ROLES

As we identify with these various roles, some of which I have listed in my own case, as I see and sense it, whatever these roles may be, we actually 'come under their spell' and, try as we might, cannot easily get away or escape their 'MAGNETIC FORCE' even when we deny such and lie to ourselves. NO matter what roles you play, they all serve to support your 'CHIEF FEATURE'-which may be and usually is, most obvious to EVERYONE EXCEPT YOURSELF -save under very special conditions, most of which we cannot accept or undergo or realize exist-which requires a 'SHOCK' somewhat similar to that required to 'bridge a gap' in the 'OCTAVE', an idea which few understand and accept or verify for themselves.

ROLES

The ROLES we play are often displayed or shown on FACEBOOK profile pages and in profile photos, that frequently changes as moods, desires, and other urges arise and shift and alter, usually unconsciously, accidentally even, and stem from possible false 'i's' or personality(ities) or false and fantastic images we have of ourselves which we hope others will see and comment upon and reinforce, which means,among other things, sex-appeal, intelligence, talent, virtues, an occasional vice perhaps, and a lot of other things which we are really not..... These roles are not the ones that society and culture or education impose upon us and force us to play, although there are such, and they also may be multitudinous, depending on other elements and mechanical response that compose us.....but it is on the topic of ROLES that I wish to discuss here and not the other things that have to be eventuallly considered....if we ever get around to do so and do so honestly and with conscious effort... It is always much easier to observe the roles others play,especially on others' facebook walls, in their postings on your own walls or theirs or in the news feed(s) as well as in the various selections of their profile pictures,whether actual pictures of themselves as they appear, whether posed, young, old, etc. or in the many other imaginative pictures garnered from various sources.......You can probably see the roles I play or what others think and say that I play and sometimes the attempt to either glorify such, criticize such, ridicule such, praise such, and the like.....without really understanding the actual motives and reasons and excuses for such,even if stated for all to see... The selection of profile pictures can be most amusing, interesting,alluring,artistic/aesthetic/dramatic, or ordinary...but eye-catchers are usually sought out by admirers or detractors as the case may be......all of which is good if you take such as a means of finding out how you really look to others....even if they are ignorant, illiterate, wise or sly, lustful or helpful,etc..... The best comments are, of course, THOSE THAT SHOCK YOU OUT OF YOUR STUPOR, YOUR SLEEP, YOUR COMPLACENCY, YOUR INERTIA, YOUR SUSCEPTIBILILTY TO THE LAW OF ACCIDENT.... Whether or not such make you happy or irate, angry or compassionate, does not matter.....in the process of remembering yourself, you need to 'suffer' in the real, intentional sense of such.... In saying al this, I am not ignoring the roles I play or pretend to play or feel I play or think I play,or seem to fulfill and this also pertains to my numerous blogs on blogspot.com EXAMPLES OF MY RATHER OBVIOUS ROLES, which many recognize in my postings are: 'THE MARTIAL ARTIST' 'THE TOE CRUSHER' 'THE INTELLIGENT COMMENTATOR' 'THE LIKER OF COMMENTS' 'THE DISLIKER OF COMMENTS' 'THE FRIEND ACCEPTOR' 'THE BIBLE READER QUOTER OR FUNDAMENTALIST' 'THE EVOLUTIONIST' 'THE ANIMAL LOVER' 'THE WARRIOR' 'THE GAMESTER' 'THE TV/MOVIE CRITIC' 'THE BOOK REVIEWER' 'THE COLLECTOR' 'THE WORLD TRAVELER' 'THE REGIONAL TRAVELER' 'THE POLITICAL ANALYST' 'THE HISTORIAN' 'THE OCCULTIST' 'THE WRITER' By now it should be obvious that the list can be endless as can be the various roles we assume or think we assume or have thrust on us in some way and with which we attempt to muddle through life and situational circumstances...blaming our failures on others and on events and the wrong time/wrong place theory of existence plus a lot of other imaginary or actual reasons and activities.....that consume our energies and misdirect our efforts, minimal as they are....

NEITHER BELIEF NOR KNOWLEDGE CAN SUBSTITUTE FOR SELF REMEMBERING

Too often we accept substitutes when we should not accept any substitution and we often do this at the suggestion(s) of others, well-meaning or not, and do not verify things for ourselves.........Until you discover and realize and become aware and attentive of SELF-REMEMBERING your being will not change, though your beliefs and knowledge might, at least to a certain extent until all such becomes, as it usually is, distorted....
