PHILOSOPHY, which supposedly means 'LOVE OF WISDOM', can be approached from the perspective of being a 'national/ethnic' subject, which has been somewhat ignored by ACADEMIA but embraced by ordinary 'people in the streets' and taken to be extremely important as all such categories usually are....
Thus, we have not just 'GREEK' PHILOSOPHY from whence 'the love of wisdom' claims to have sprung, but 'ENGLISH','GERMAN','FRENCH' philosophies and an 'AMERICAN" philosophy which tend to depend somewhat for their understanding and influence on particular,individual and published philsophers(thinkers, intellectuals,professors,etc.),those persons, for one reason or another, who seem to be designated as such,whether or not they really deserve the title of 'PHILOSOPHER'.
